Youngest’s First Birthday Treat

It was my sister’s 21st birthday and for the first time, she decided to treat us to lunch. Instead of having a separate celebration with some of her closest friends, she just invited them to come with us in Marquee Mall that day. In fairness to my sister, she was game in almost every food we are suggesting her to order at T.G.I. Friday’s.

We had one of our favorites, the Friday’s-Three-For-All. This plate is consisted of three delicious appetizers: Fried Mozzarella, Buffalo Wings and Potato Skins. Everything was served fresh and hot. The server prepared the Buffalo Wings in front of us by mixing and shaking up the rounded container containing the chicken and the mixture. Among the three, it was the mozzarella sticks that I loved the most. They’re best eaten hot so dig in as soon as they get served to the table.

We only had one rice meal so my sister ordered one of the restaurant’s pasta meals, the Cajun Shrimp and Chicken Pasta. It was our first time to try this pasta so we only got its smaller serving. We then realized we should’ve ordered its bigger plate (to share). Everyone liked it.

The only rice meal we’ve had was the solo order of Mushroom Chicken & Mushrooms. This one was cheaper and had smaller chicken pieces compared to the first one we’ve had. I didn’t get to track what service we were ordering but they seemed inconsistent. This one had smaller serving of chicken, too, plus two pieces of corn.

The Grilled Chicken Salad was a special order for me since I don’t eat rice and pasta. This one was a bit different from Trinoma branch’s salad version, which had bacon and cheese along with the grilled chicken strips, of course. My sister’s friends tried the salad and they seemed like it, too.

We love bacon so we tried the Pork Tenderloin and Bacon Wrapped Creole. It was okay – just a bit sweet even without using the sauce served with it.

We were almost done with our lunch but some of us thought we haven’t had enough so we ordered two more dishes. The first one was the Buffalo Bites, which we thought was as good as the Buffalo Wings but we were wrong. The latter tasted better.

My younger sister requested the second dish. She wanted some nachos so we got the Grand Nachos. We didn’t know it was that huge; we thought it was just really expensive so we never really expected it to be like that. There was another similar dish available in the menu, which is cheaper and has smaller serving. We just didn’t get to see it in the menu before doing the order. We were in a hurry that time since we had to run to the cinema for a movie as soon as possible.

The last-minute decision of ordering more food was a mistake. We ended up taking them home instead. But before we finished the meal, the crew wished my sister a happy birthday through their traditional birthday jingle and free dessert.

We left the restaurant happy and very satisfied. We actually almost couldn’t get up from our seats. Aside from the food we had, each of us got Bottomless Strawberry Iced Tea and had at least two refills so everyone was feeling heavy at the end. We really enjoyed the meal.
